Dr. Giulio Tononi
Chief Scientist

Giulio Tononi, M.D, Ph.D., is currently working as Professor in Department of Psychiatry, University of Wisconsin Madison.

Giulio received his medical degree and specialized in psychiatry at the University of Pisa, Italy.

After serving as a medical officer in the Army, he obtained a Ph.D. in neuroscience as a fellow of the Scuola Superiore, based on his work on sleep regulation.

From 1990 to 2000 he has been associated with The Neurosciences Institute, first in New York and then in San Diego. Giulio Tononi’s research areas are Sleep and Consciousness.

     
     
Jack Tam
Senior Advisor

Jack Tam is currently working as Director in Intuit Inc., USA. Prior to this he was Senior Director of Engineering at Aether Systems.

Jack co-founded Artesia Technologies and served as Director of Product Development from 1999 to 2001. He has done his Masters in Computer Science from John Hopkins University. He also holds Bachelor in Computer Science from Cornell University.

     
     
Dr. Marcello Massimini
Chief Scientist

Dr. Marcello Massimini Ph.D., is currently working as Professor in Neurophysiology at the University of Milan, Italy.

Marcello graduated in Medicine from the University of Milan. During his PhD in Neurophysiology Marcello performed, in vivo, intracellular recordings in the lab of Dr. Mircea Steriade at Laval University (Quebec), Canada.

From 2002 to 2006 he worked as a research associate at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Wisconsin – Madison with Dr. Giulio Tononi. During this period he tested the first commercially available TMS/HD-EEG system and performed experiments to understand changes in thalamocortical information processing that occur across states of vigilance.

Marcello research focus areas are TMS/EEG and its utilization in Neurology.

     
     
Dr. Reto Huber
Chief Scientist

Dr. Reto Huber, Ph.D., is currently working as Professor at the Children's Hospital of the University of Zurich, Switzerland.

Dr. Huber has performed EEG recordings in humans and rodents to study the mechanisms underlying sleep regulation (Prof. A.A. Borbély lab, University of Zurich, Switzerland).

During the last two years Dr. Huber has carried out the first high-density EEG recordings during sleep at the University of Wisconsin with Prof. G. Tononi.

He has great expertise in quantitative EEG analysis during wakefulness and sleep in healthy subjects and patients in combination with measures of performance.
